I was approached earlier this year to be the Hymer's Fair horse show photographer - which was something I couldn't say no to!
The Hymers Fall Fair is held every year and I've been told it's the oldest fair in Ontario. It's held every year during the labour day weekend. This year that was September 3 & 4th. For more information about the Hymers fair visit www.hymersfair.ca
If I'd have to describe the day in word, it'd have to be "HOT". I'm not aware of the temperature history of the fair but I'd be willing to bet it was one of the hottest days in the history of the fair. Some scheduled riders dropped out of participating as the heat index was very high, and Teri, the organizer, ended up scrapping a few classes to conserve the horses as it was simply too hot and the horses wellbeing is paramount!
It was a fun day, the show went well and the horses did great. I was very impressed with everyone's dedication in the scorching heat. (It was easily over 30c !)
